Theatre maker, filmmaker, stand-up comedian and professional wrestling manager Pariah Khan brings his one-man show, An Indian Abroad to Newport’s Riverfront Theatre on July 14.
An Indian Abroad follows Krishnan, a young man, stifled by life in middle-class India, desperate to see more of the world. On a journey of self-discovery, he visits the exotic island of Great Britain to “find himself”. What does Krishnan’s journey teach him about the world? What might he learn about himself? And what happens when he falls in love with one a native?

Recently voted one of the West of England’s 30 most influential people under 30 for his work in theatre and comedy, Pariah khan was also selected by BBC Three and The Latimer Group as one of the UK’s top 50 creative young people. His short film ‘Slice’ has been accepted in over 10 film festivals across Europe, Australia and North America and his continued involvement with Pro Wrestling Chaos has been a highlight for fans of the art form.
Directed by Manga Theatre’s Eduardo Gama, Pariah’s debut production An Indian Abroad has toured the country from Plymouth to Newcastle, with sold out shows in Bristol, Birmingham, London and oddly Oxford; and now it comes to The Riverfront in Newport.
