Students from the Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts (WAVDA) are currently hard at work preparing for St. David’s Day celebrations with a difference.
The 8 University of Wales musical theatre students that make up the course are usually based in Cardiff but are presently hard at work preparing performances with a Welsh flavour for American audiences in Ohio!
Among the musical theatre Students Dewi Sant celebrations is the St David’s Luncheon, a sold out event held at the Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill, on Saturday February 25th. The Luncheon, will be held for the first time in two years (following the pandemic) and see the students perform alongside the Rio Grande choir.
Prior to this will also be two performances including song and monologues at the Bob Evans Farm Hall on University of Rio Grande Campus at 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday February 22nd.
The students have already received a warm reception in Ohio appearing on both Mix 96 FM and Main Street TV today to promote the forthcoming performances.
