Heaven Hanging Low in Cardiff for Art School Girlfriend

Ahead of a UK tour this autumn, Art School Girlfriend, aka Polly Mackey, returns with a new track Heaven Hanging Low, the third song to be released from her upcoming album, Soft Landing.

This album is set to be a substantial step-forward for Art School Girlfriend, showcasing the floating melodies of her debut record, Is It Light Where You Are?, and the small euphorias of Soft Landing.

Heaven Hanging Low opens with a clipped drum machine and blooms into an all-encompassing, main character experience detailing a queer love story. The track is accompanied by a video directed by Zak Watson, featuring drifting landscapes.

Polly says of the song: “These lyrics have a lot of religious imagery, but Heaven Hanging Low is actually a queer love song all about finding that celestial and sublime euphoria in your closer, more domesticated surroundings.”

As well as a new album on the horizon, there will also be a has also announced a UK tour in November 2023, featuring dates in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Brighton and Cardiff. Art School Girlfriend will play Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on November 4.
