The countdown is on to the biggest weekend of live music ever held at Chepstow Racecourse – with headline performances from singer-songwriter superstars Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi and George Ezra.
The trio of stars will top the bill across the weekend of Friday June 30, Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2, bringing tens of thousands of music fans to the Monmouthshire racecourse. The weekend is presented by Chepstow Racecourse with live music promoters Live Nation and Cuffe and Taylor.
Kicking off the event will be global sensation Lionel Richie on the Friday, with support from Sugababes, Gabrielle and Kevin Davy White.
Richie’s shows are renowned for their party atmosphere, with fans set to enjoy timeless mega-hits and singalong classics such as Three Times A Lady, Truly, Say You Say Me and All Night Long. His music is part of the fabric of pop music and Richie has sold more than 125 million albums worldwide and is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and four-time Grammy Awards winner.
Scottish troubadour Lewis Capaldi will follow on Saturday, with his biggest ever Welsh gig as he brings his Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent World Tour to Chepstow, featuring performances from Norwegian pop powerhouse Sigrid and singer-songwriter David Kushner.
Capaldi recently celebrated his fifth UK number one single with the release of Wish You The Best, following Pointless, which topped the charts in January, and previous hits Someone You Loved – the UK’s most streamed song of all time – Before You Go and Forget Me. His second album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent immediately topped the UK album chart on its release last month.
And closing the weekend on Sunday will be George Ezra – one of the UK’s most acclaimed songwriters and live performers, joined by Cat Burns, The Big Moon and Kingfishr.
Ezra is one of the UK’s most acclaimed songwriters and live performers. After two blockbuster albums – Wanted On Voyage (2014) and Staying At Tamara’s (2018), both of which reached Number 1 in the UK and sold millions around the world – he released third album The Gold Rush Kid last year which once again enjoyed the Number 1 spot in the UK and includes the hit singles Anyone For You and Green Green Grass.
