Photo Special: Green Man Festival 2023

Andy Howells and the Entertainment South Wales team visited Green Man Festival over the weekend and checked out many of the events on offer – including a rich selection of music!

Eclectic sounds, colourful visions and beautiful surroundings made up the environment of Green Man Festival, the largest music and arts festival of its kind in Wales, over the weekend of 17-20 August 2023..

While, it might have been muddy under foot in some places, the audience of 25,000 visitors were not deterred as they sampled musical delights across the Green Man festival site in the breath taking surroundings of the Bannau Brycheiniog.

The great thing about a festival environment is theres always room for discovery. Among 2023’s featured artists were The Crows, Coutney Marie Andrews, Spencer Cullum, The Wedding Present, Sarah Jarosz, Christian Lee Hutson, The Oslo Twins and Hyll.

I certainly came away from the event with a few new favourites to add to my playlist, as well as a newfound respect for some artists I was aware of but had never seen perform live.

The festival comprised of ten unique areas, which also included comedy, literature to wellness, theatre and contemporary dance and it was great to dip in and out of these over the weekend, either for my own enjoyment, or indeed to see other people, particularly children soaking up a family friendly environment.

Tickets for next year’s festival, which takes place from 15-18 August 2024, go on sale on Saturday 30th September, and are set once again to be in high demand after this year’s event sold out in three hours.
