West End Star Adam’s Panto Role in Jac and The Beanstalk at Cardiff’s New Theatre

West End actor Adam Bailey will take the title role in the 2023-24 Cardiff New Theatre pantomime Jac and The Beanstalk and as our pictures and video interview reveal, the young actor is already getting excited about his panto role!

Adam who hails from Penarth will join the previously announced Birds of a Feather legend Lesley Joseph as The Spirit of the Beans and panto Dame extraordinaire Mike Doyle, who returns for a tenth consecutive year after a triumphant season last Christmas appearing in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Adam trained at Laine Theatre Arts and counts among his many theatre credits roles as Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys (Trafalgar Theatre, West End) and Felicia/Adam in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (UK Tour).

When asked how he will approach playing Jac in the forthcoming panto, Adam tells Andy Howells, “That’s the fun of acting, you get to bring a slice of yourself to every role you play. There will always be an element of something different every time somebody plays something. So yeah, I’ll bring a bit of myself to it.”

Adam was attracted to the world of theatre from a young age as he explains, “I always loved to sing as a kid, me and my cousins were making up shows for the family at Christmas.

“It was something that sparked my attention and my parents were lovely enough to nurture. I went on to do many amateur productions including this theatre.”

No doubt, Adam’s supporters and panto fans alike will be keen to see him return to the New Theatre stage when Jac and The Beanstalk plays from Saturday 9 December 2023 – Sunday 7 January 2024.
