A three-hander performance of The Hound of The Baskervilles described by its director as “a rip-roaring romp around the Sherlock Holmes classic story” is to open the brand-new Newport Playgoers season on September 13.
A comic take on the Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle adventure, The Hound of the Baskervilles is devised by Peepolykus and has already been performed professionally to great acclaim.
Directed by Lynn Phillips and assisted by Darian Thomas, the production will comprise of three actors.
Accompanying Salter is Nathan Hodge as Watson and a dodgy yokel, plus returning to the Dolman Theatre for the first time in nearly two decades is Glenn Phillips, rising to the challenge of playing Doctor Mortimer, Sir Henry Baskerville, Sir Charles Baskerville, three yokels, a cabbie, and just about anyone else the script requires.
The production also boasts an over-complicated lighting and sound plot, ably run by Ellie Aston and Matt Harris. Costumes have been sourced or made by Becky Phillips and Lynn Phillips (no relation).
The Hound of The Baskervilles runs from Wednesday 13th September at 7.30 pm until Saturday 16th September when there is a 2pm matinee. For ticket details visit the Dolman Theatre website.
