A one-man show that pays poetic homage to the classic action-movie Die Hard comes to Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre on Monday October 16 2023 at 7.30pm
It’s many people’s favourite Christmas and action movie – now superfan Richard Marsh has written a “poetic homage” to Die Hard with the performer clad in a vest and specs. Named after the immortal line uttered by Bruce Willis’ hard-bitten detective John McClane, Yippee Ki Yay is coming to the Borough Theatre Abergavenny on Monday 16 October at 7:30pm.

The one man show which received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, parodies the 1988 movie as an epic poem and “love story” between McClane and estranged wife Holly. It also offsets the silliness with details of Marsh’s own domestic life – after meeting his wife on Reddit message board, connecting through their mutual love of the movie, and having kids.

When gunmen seize an LA skyscraper, off-duty policeman John McClane is the hostages’ only hope. This uplifting action romp (and unauthorised parody) pays affectionate tribute to the iconic 80s fan favourite. Essential viewing for Hans Gruber superfans and newcomers alike.
Tickets for Yippee Ki Yay are priced at £19 and are available from the Borough Theatre’s box office 01873 850 805 and the website boroughtheatreabergavenny.co.uk
