South Wales singer/songwriter KatieLou releases her new single Boys via Newport-based record label Dirty Carrot on August 28.
Hailing from Usk, KatieLou began playing classical guitar at the age of 9, before venturing into song writing at the age of 12. She has since gigged all over Wales and England, building up an ever-growing fanbase on the live circuit and social media.

Drawing influences from the likes of Lana Del Ray, Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers, KatieLou, released her debut EP ‘Households’ in 2019, while a single ‘Vanilla’ followed in 2020. Recently she has been working with producer Jon Greening, and her latest single ‘Boys’ is a result of their collaboration.
KatieLou explains, “Boys was written at a time in my life between feeling like I could do nothing right and finding my self-worth. It’s a song about growth and realisation that everyone deserves to feel support and love in any relationship. I hope it’s as relatable and fun for you to listen to as it was for me to write and now perform”
Boys is coupled with another track, Typical. Both tracks feature Jon Greening on keyboard and drums, while all guitars and bass parts are provided by Chris Vinnicombe. Jon and Chris are also well known for their work with Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy.
