Free Summer of Fun Events for Children with Newport Live

Newport Live’s Summer of Fun is looking even better, with changes to scheduling and more free activities for children!

Thanks to funding from Newport City Council via a £5 million Welsh Government Summer of Fun fund, this year’s line-up of events, activities and programmes across sport, leisure, theatre, arts, and culture promises to be more exciting, varied, and most importantly accessible than ever.

The summer of fun encompasses activities across the whole city, whether you plan a visit to one of Newport Live’s centres or visit one of their community events including Crafty Saturdays, multi-sport camp, youth track cycling sessions, and much more.

Andrea Ovey, Director of Business Development at Newport Live said, “The additional support from the Summer of Fun fund means that as well as the activities that we run every year, which are always popular, this year we’ve been able to add brand new ones, which are now completely free”.

For example, our cycling track sessions are completely free, which includes 1 and 2 day courses, youth track tasters and youth track skills 9 years+ and so were our intensive swimming lessons, across all levels, all of which have now become fully booked!
